College coaches get 100’s of requests. The assistant coaches usually end up reviewing player profiles to make a short list. You should put together a resume that includes the following:
Personal
- Name:
- Date of Birth:
- Graduating Class (When you are finishing 12th grade):
- Citizenship
- Character Reference: (Name and number of a 3rd party like a pastor, teacher etc. that can vouch for your character)
- Volunteer Experience: Write down volunteer experience if any
Tennis
- UTR: (Write UTR recorded on date and provide link to UTR)
- WTN: (Write WTN recorded on date and provide link to WTN on ITF profile page)
- ITF Junior Ranking: (Write ITF ranking recorded on date and provide link to ITF ranking) National Ranking: (Also write which ranking, example for US players it’s USTA National, for Indian Players it’s AITA. Also write ranking recorded date and provide link to ranking)
- High School Tennis Accomplishment: (You can write about your high school team tennis experience)
- Major Wins: Write big wins against higher UTR players or ranked players
- Tournament Schedule: Show where and when you are scheduled to play upcoming tournaments
- Coaching Reference: Write the Name and number of any coach who can vouch for you
Academic
- GPA / Current Grade: (Show it if it’s good by the school’s acceptance standard, otherwise leave it blank)
- SAT Score: (Show it if it’s good by the school’s acceptance standard, otherwise leave it blank)
- Intended Major: Write down what you want to study if you know it. Otherwise, just put “Undeclared”.
